Data Analytics for Researchers

Collecting insights in a data-driven was a lot more gnarly just a couple of years ago. With this work, we wanted to move to image a simpler way.

After merging with a sample or human capital provider, connecting people to problems, managing that data had growth factor potential. With a new vision for an integrated research solution, we leveraged existing intellectual property.

Problem

In addition to this new problem, organizationally we were started from scratch. Before we could get to this work, foundational systems would needed to ensue.

Solution

A thriving team, a global design system, and an MVP for topline analytics users.

My Role: Lead Designer | My Team: 1PM, 1Designer, 9 Engineers,

Jobs to be Done

Job maps and information architecture diagrams helped understand the new landscape and build relationships in the organization.

Competitive Analysis

Competitive analysis is in-depth for analytics. You can learn a lot from video tutorials but it also helps to interact with data in these products. We looked at Tableau, Google Analytics, Decix

Vision

After organizing internally, and looking out to the market, a new vision emerged:

🌐

Interconnected

Solutions for Sample, Survey and Analytics available in one suite.

💕

Multi-Purpose

The analytics interface will serve reporting needs as well as survey monitoring.

🥧

Quick Segments

Segments should be simple and fun to use. Complex data transformed to visual input.

🧬

Insights Driven

Stat testing are applied to segments automatically to deliver actionable reports.

Survey Analysis

Reverse engineering the survey tool provided real-life context to the experience we envisioned, as well as tactical data.

Testing

We leveraged internal and external users and ran iterative small-scale qualitative usability studies to validate needs and interaction design.

Design System

Designers across different products in the organization, collaborated to create Axiom, an atomic design system.

Data Viz

I lead the system for data visualization, charts are molecules. I created an exhaustive set of components that were vetted and maintained. Visualizations feature flexibility for single and multi-variable data scenarios. As well as, open-ended questions, dashboards, and grid systems.

The Product

Connected

In the V1 all apps are accessible from a parent page.

Topline

The default mode allows members to monitor the study as it runs and see results and by question.

Segmentation

Users can easily add segments and instantly find insights in the data.

Filters

Researchers can filter by market or segment.

Views

Users can easily change modes to see the data broken out differently.

Export

Explorations were done to create a mode where researchers can seamlessly create export ready slides from their dashboard contents.
